Owned by the Barrera family since 1963, Finca El Cortijo is a coffee farm committed to providing premium quality Colombian coffee to discerning gourmet coffee drinkers around the world.
Our coffee is grown organically using sustainable farming techniques, we hand-pick and cultivat our coffee in small batches to preserve the quality of each bean.
We practice sustainable farming; we leave portions of our land as undisturbed forest to keep flowing water clean and our soil enriched with nutrients.
We compost organic matter to renew our soil, thereby helping to provide healthier coffee plants and minimizing the use of chemical fertilizers. We also farm our coffee alongside other crops, such as baby bananas and plantains, to help provide balance to our soil.
Owned and operated by native-born Colombians, Finca el Cortijo is dedicated to protecting the local environment and community.
We provide jobs and housing to local workers and we are committed to promoting local philanthropy.
Finca el Cortijo proudly grows coffee according to the guidance's of RAINFOREST. We also participate in the National Coffee Federation of Colombia, and are certified with GLOBALGAP. We are a member of the Cayunda Group of family-owned Colombian farms.
